The Storm Typhoon Kimono is constructed of pre-shrunk light weight 100% cotton fabric – what is commonly call “gold” weave 550gr. The jacket is designed with a single piece of fabric. The suit has been treated with a softening agent for ultra comfort, and features triple reinforced stitching for durability combined with antimicrobial treatment to avoid transmission of fungal diseases such as ringworm that is becoming a regular occurrence at any dojo.

The pants are constructed of 100% cotton twill with reinforced knee padding for ultra comfort that won’t obstruct physical movement. The pant drawstring is fed through one inch oversized loops that are ultra tough to prevent tearing from the main body of the pant – as it often happens. An additional feature is a small pocket inside the pants for holding a mouth guard prior to sparring or competition.

The combination of these elements results in the most comfortable, anatomically correct gi available on the market. In addition to these features all the Typhoon branded logos are embroidered in super high definition for a professional competition ready look. This Storm gi has both reinforced cuffs on both jacket & pant.

Storm gi
I'm 5'6 160 stocky build the gi fits pretty good ,sleeves a bit longer than I would like ,then again I have short arms ,the collar is pretty thick ....the gi is super soft and comfortable, the draw back to that is it feels like a wet towel after training and the sleeves start to stretch out,and due to the stiff collar It always feels open ....personally I would not recommend this gi...but if you don't sweat alot or you don't mind that thick collar open feels then this could be a great gi for you.

Fit?
I absolute loved the pants. The extra padding in the knees is great. The drawstring is nice and long and very smooth. I wear a mouth guard so the pocket is handy for before and after class. The pants came to the top of my feet pre wash and are just about right after shrinking. I have really short legs so these are probably cut perfect for most people. The belt loops seem bomb proof. I tie to the side of the center loop and the drawstring makes that easy to do. The Kimono top was pretty big. I am smack dab in the middle of the size range for the A2. I am 5' 8" tall and weigh 160 pounds. It is really sloppy. I tried several hot water washes high heat drying. The Fuji skirt is way too short so I really like that the storm is longer. The Storm collar is great, It has a good thickness and flex. I also noticed doing some stand up that despite the loose fit of the top my opponents had trouble getting a good grip. This was true for sleeve grips as well as the collar. For a guy that depends on stand up for part of my game this is a plus. I probably should have gone with an A1. I looked at the sizing chart after a few rolls to see if I ordered wrong size but the A1 is listed for someone 5' 5" tall max. I am at the top end of the listed height for the A2. The sleeves were fine at the start of class but stretched to the middle of my palm by mid workout. This probably would not be an issue if I had the right size. I have longer arms for my height but nothing really abnormal. I will highly recommend this product to any of the stockier guys. I am not sure if it was just designed for a different body type or I should have ordered an A1. In the end I fall right in line with the A2 sizing at 5’8” and 160 pounds. Hind sight makes me wish I would have gone A1 but there was no way to know this going in. According to the size chart the loss of an inch in the body (the A1) would probably make a good difference in the fit. In fact I would go so far as to say the size chart is really bogus. A few of the club guys tried the top on and it fit a 5’10” and 185 pound guy the best. I would say 5’8” is the minimum height for the A2 not the top end as the chart describes. I would also say depending on body type 160 pounds is really too light. If you are described as a fire plug this thing should be your go too product. They actually list the minimum size for the A2 at 5’5” and 140 pounds, unbelievably wrong. Quality is superb. As good as any Gi on the markrt. Style is nice. Features are great. In the end it is about fit and this does not fit.

The Storm Uniform was stiched well and is very comfortable. It fits well and has a great look. It was a little pricey, but worth it once we recieved it and wore it.
