Gameness Limited Edition XT Gi -White
by Scott
Great Gi but runs big PROS: - Looks great - Not everyone has one - Well made - Feels like it will last a long time - Clean look but with a little style - Room for your team patch CONS: - Runs big so it's harder to guess which size you need - Pants are pretty wide (roomy but more for others to grab) - Sleeves feel a little long - Uses a flat draw string instead of cord This gi is fantastic. It looks incredible in person and I've gotten a lot of comments about it at my gym. The Pit Bull on the arm and leg are really well done and look great. It feels like a very strong gi. I have a feeling this is going to last a long time. It feels a bit heavier than the current trend of ultra light competition gis but I wanted something that would stand up to a few years of training. I've trained in it for the past week and it's not too heavy and actually feels a little cooler to roll in than my Kimurawar gi. There are only a few things that came up as issues. The first is that the size runs really large. I'm 6'0" and 165 lbs and first bought an A3. I wear an A3 in my other two gis (Kimurawear and Sirius) and right out of the bag this thing was HUGE. I laid it down with my other two gis on top and the sleeves were about 3 inches longer on each side and both the jacket and the pants were longer and wider than either of my gis. I am not sure how much it will shrink in the dryer but this seemed like too much to risk not being able to return it. I sent it back and switched to an A2. MMAOutlet was great about the exchange and I had my new A2 gi in a couple of days. I've washed it and run it in the dryer for just a few minutes. The shrinkage so far is minimal but I'm really hang drying it and then putting it in the dryer for 5-7 minutes to soften it up. The only other things are more preferences than issues. The sleeves feel like they run a little long. If you have short arms, you may end up needing to have a tailor shorten them. The pants are also fairly larger. If you want a really tight fit then this is probably not the gi for you. Finally, the pants have the flat drawstring instead of cord. It makes it a little harder to move once it's been wash a few times. All in all, I really like this gi and would definitely buy it again. I'm really happy with it and think it is a great gi.
